Other Things To Note

The cottage is situated at the top of a mountain. Lovely views come with lots of wind, especially in winter. Please be prepared! TIP: when windy, only open one door or window at a time. Please close windows when you go out in case the wind picks up, and please be cautious about lighting braai fires. Strictly ensure that you never leave an outdoor fire unattended, and that all fires are extinguished at night / before you leave the property.

The second, upstairs bedroom, is a loft space bound by a half-wall, and there is no door to that space. Since there is only one bathroom, the space is best suited to one large family, or two small families that don’t mind sharing.

The second, upstairs bed, can be made up as one king-size bed, or as two singles. Please specify this when making your booking. Although maximum occupancy of the cottage is six people, there are beds to suit four people and two thick single mattresses that can be used for extra kids – please enquire about extra costs.

Please be cautious when allowing children upstairs and supervise them at all times. There is a lockable baby/child gate at the bottom of the stairs that will be effective up to about age three or four, depending on the child.

The cottage has a very private feeling, but it is surrounded by neighbours on all sides. On the same property, the main house is ±200m away and out of sight.

The three other neighbours are visible but not intrusively so – please check the photographs.

Free, ample parking in the open, behind a locked gate, and spacious garden.

Parties of any kind are not permitted, and visitors to the cottage (besides booked guests) are usually not given access – please discuss with us in advance if visitors are expected.

Linen and bath towels are provided. Cleaning service available on request.

The cottage is linked to a security response service and the cottage has exterior security beams. Checkers 6060 and various local restaurants will deliver.

The WIFI must be on at all times as the main house (5A) sources WIFI from here by line of sight. In the cottage, the WIFI is required to operate the geyser. If an appliance trips the power, your host will contact you for access to re-set.

Please do not leave chargers (for example laptops / phones / lights) plugged in – they may start fires.

We regret no pets and no smoking in the cottage. We also do not allow high heel or sharp shoes on the property (house or deck) as they cause damage to the floors and wood.

If the Eskom (power) grid goes down, due to load shedding or breakdown, we will ask you not to use appliances until either the grid is restored, or until the sun comes out. We hope you understand!
